Prologue to Adventures (Full Guide)
Your adventure is about to start, Aurorian! In this guide, we discuss everything you need to know about the Prologue to Adventures, which has just launched on the Aurory platform.
Before we jump into the guide, we feel that it is worth reiterating that, as the name suggests, this is merely a prologue to Aurory Adventures, which will be a more expansive and robust open-world JRPG that will follow in the later months of this year. An important thing to also highlight is that Speed Blitz will evolve into a more dynamic/less automated battle system as we go forward with new patches and releases. We will be frequently updating this guide as more content is added and Aurory Adventures becomes a full-on PvE game. Prologue to Adventures is the foundation on which so many amazing experiences will be built, and we can’t wait to share what our team has been working on the last few months. Now, let’s get into the details of this guide!
First things first, you’ll need to own an Aurorian NFT to access the Prologue in this initial phase. More early access spots will open up to the public in due time. If you don’t have an Aurorian yet, you can buy one from app.aurory.io/marketplace or any of the major Solana NFT marketplaces. Please note as well that if you own only one Aurorian, you won’t be able to access Prologue to Adventures while they are out of your wallet on an expedition.
The second requirement to play will be to have at least 2 $AURY in your SyncSpace in order to participate in Speed Blitz battles. We will explain how to do this in the next paragraph.
Once you have made sure that you have an Aurorian and some $AURY, you’ll want to visit our game dashboard and sign in with a Solana (SPL) wallet like Phantom or Backpack. You’ll get a popup with a signature request; sign it to proceed. Then make sure you have SOL in your wallet and click on the "Move Assets to SyncSpace" button in your player profile, then click "Continue", and move at least 2 AURY into your SyncSpace.
Once you have done that, you can click on “Play Now” from the game dashboard and load the game!
When you first spawn in Blanche, you’ll find yourself in the main plaza. This is the place where Aurorians meet, dance, and chill. The basic controls are simply clicking once or clicking and holding wherever you want to run on the map. You will also find several elements and NPCs here that can be clicked on to interact with, including trainers, the marketplace kiosk, and swap kiosk.
Directly to the north of the spawn point, you will find the Aurory marketplace kiosk. While not the main focus of Blanche, it will play a major role going forward as new mechanics are added, which will increase demand for certain items in Adventures. Currently, the marketplace kiosk enables you to exchange game assets such as Nefties, eggs, cosmetics, and more, all without needing to leave the game.
Another kiosk you will notice just to the west of the spawn point is the swapping kiosk. Interacting with this machine will take you to our website’s swapping page, where you can swap SOL and USDC to $AURY.
If you wander outside of the main plaza a bit, you will find The Incubator. This machine was created by Sato to hatch Neftie Eggs and expand their ranks quicker than happens naturally. The incubator can be utilized in-game or triggered remotely via the heliOS Dashboard. Hatching eggs requires an $AURY fee; this fee is dynamic, which means it will be adjusted with $AURY price volatility.
As you continue to make your way around Blanche, you will eventually run into Kitty, an Aurorian of particular distinction who seems to know more than most. She doesn't trust you to the point of overt suspicion, but she has a clear affinity for Helios, and that gives you a chance to prove yourself. Bit by bit, you may earn your way into Kitty's favor, but don't get too comfortable; Kitty’s allegiance is only clear to one person…herself! Nonetheless, you can chat with her and see if she’d be willing to let you take a shot at winning some Speed Blitz Battles, a sure way to impress her.
Aside from Kitty, you can find some other NPCs scattered around Blanche. These NPCs are called “Trainers,” as they are part of designated Blitz teams. They are highly motivated to achieve glory and would like nothing more than to see you get shown up in the arena. Don’t let them get into your head!
Team Bull — Neftie aficionados, gamblers, and thrill seekers. You’ll recognize them by their matching colored outfits and proudly displayed Bull hats.
Team Bear — They play it safe, but their tough and tactical approach can prove to be a big challenge! Their matching colored outfits and Bear hats tell you to bring all your wits and skills to the arena.
There is one Blitz arena in Blanche where you can put your Nefties to the test in Speed Blitz Battles. This version of Blitz Battles, a one-on-one "Pokemon" style showdown, is fully automated. You can wager $AURY on the outcome of these battles as long as you have $AURY in your SyncSpace. As Aurory Adventures progresses and more of the world opens up, you'll find additional arenas across different biomes and villages.
In order to start a Speed Blitz Battle, you’ll need to talk with Kitty or one of the trainers around Blanche. You’ll have the opportunity to risk up to 10 $AURY on the match outcome if you have an available balance in your Syncspace. Our matchmaking system will then scan for other players looking to match at the same time and may decrease to a lower risk level (5 $AURY, then 1 $AURY) depending on the preferred risk level of the player you end up being matched with.
You can play either with a default Neftie or an NFT you own in your wallet. After selecting your Neftie, the matchmaking will start.
As there will be no leaderboard in this first version, you will be matched in priority with players wagering the same amount of $AURY as you.
You’ll see the two challenging Nefties charge at each other into a cloud of combat, with one Neftie eventually emerging victorious once the other Neftie’s health points go to zero. Just like in Pokemon, your Neftie’s type will have major importance! For example, a water Neftie like Axobubble will do extra damage to a fire Neftie like Shiba Ignite but less damage to a plant Neftie like Blockchoy.
As you can see in the Neftie selection image above, each Neftie comes with two abilities. One ‘‘normal’’ and one from their associated type (water, fire, wind, plant, ground, thunder, etc).
Each of these abilities have two statistics:
Power: the amount of damage the attack will do.
Accuracy: the percentage chance that the attack will succeed.
These two abilities have a 5% chance to do a critical hit (damage x2) and a 5% chance to do a critical fail (damage x0.5) at every move. After the match concludes, both players will be able to view a backlog of what happened in the battle. Even if your opponent has a stronger Neftie than yours, it doesn’t guarantee them a win!
After a 1% “Kitty’s Cut” on the pot, the winner takes the rest of the $AURY that was wagered on the battle!
Aside from everything we’ve covered, Blanche will be a fun place for players to hang out, emote, and use our highly requested in-game chat box. The chat box is a place to make new friends in the community and share GMs.
Of course, the chat follows our terms of use. Please be kind to one another, as we’ll have to moderate any disrespectful behavior. Just like the rest of the features in Prologue to Adventures, the chat box is in alpha. Feel free to provide feedback in Discord!
As we’ve said before, Prologue to Adventures is just the beginning. We hope that you play in Blanche and see the potential for the full Adventures experience we’re building out. With this foundation that has been built, the future is looking very bright, and we’re grateful to have you all along for the ride.
See you in Blanche, everyone!
